is an analytical laboratory specializing in
materials analysis for manufacturing, quality control, failure
analysis, and research & development.
Client Needs
– Katz
Analytical Services needed a new facility for conducting
materials testing.
Because
of the specialized equipment and types of testing conducted,
Karkela Construction had to consider reinforced flooring for
heavy equipment weight requirements, radiation shielding to
protect employees, and humidity control beyond what a typical
multi-purpose industrial construction project would include.
Karkela’s
Solution
–
Karkela
Construction involvement in this project began long before the
first shovel of dirt was turned. Katz Analytical
Services asked Karkela Construction to assemble the entire
team including; an architect from Strapko Pahl & Associates
Ltd. to design the 9,500 square foot facility, a realtor, Tom
Junnila, to
identify and negotiate for a location, and the contractor team
for the building's construction.
The
End Result
– Katz Analytical was very pleased with the end result and
with the rapid construction and project completion in 5
months.
